Message Vent the hydrogen underwater, burn it in a flare tower, run it thru an algea bed, whatever. Compress it and pipe it to shore w/ the hydrogen and bottle and sell it... there are many things you could do. Seing as it was a passing idea and I just thought of it I have not sat down and gone thru all the intricasies of it, nor solved all the myriad problems that would arise.

Talking about the gas from a landfill is a moot point since you were correct initally that the amount is minute in comparison to the total need. I was just pointing out that it could be captured easily with the existing infrastructure. Putting cows inside does not sound like a viable idea. The capital cost of errecting them would be huge along with the cost of food production and transportation for them. Of course you could capture their waste and process it to help offset the costs. I never said it could compete with gas frmo wells, it was just a thought on it's possibility.

As for the storms.... have some tugs and tow the array out of the way. Or have motors on the arrays to move them around to sunny areas that could move them in case of bad weather. Like I said, it was a passing idea and I have not spent a week, a month or a year pondering it.

So you never brainstorm? Perfectly formed ideas with no shortcomming or flaws jump right out of your head, eh? Personally I have an idea, then rethink it, think of something related, tie the two together, see something I didn't think of before, go a different direction, etc before comming up with a final, working idea.

I think Fokker has a point. I was bringing up "possibilities", not hard-and-fast solutions. There is a difference.

Mike
